Honor and Remember Flags

Sept 11th will soon be here.  Do you remember that day?  Well the flag industry has created many flags to help us all with honoring those that perished on that fretful day and others.  The Flag of Honor which includes the names of everyone who perished on 9/11; on all of the planes, at Shanksville, PA, the Pentagon and the World Trade Center. Another flag concerning that day is the Flag of Heroes. This flag includes the names of all the Emergency Services personnel, including FDNY, PAPD, NYPD & Court Officers.   The Honor & Remember Flag is a visible reminder to all Americans of the lives lost in defense of our national freedoms.

All of the above flags have been created with the sincerest intentions of honoring the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.  The goal of these flags is give comfort to the families left behind by knowing that their loved ones will be forever honored and remembered and to create an enduring symbol, recognized by the world, of the human sacrifice that occurred on that day in 2001.  Proceeds from the sale of these flags go to several charities including the Voices of 911 (supporting the families of the victims), the Cantor Fitzgerald Fund, the National 911 Museum at Ground Zero Flag of Honor Fund, the USO and the Wounded Warrior Project.  All these flags can be purchased on our website in various sizes.

Air Force Guidons for Edwards Air Base

Flag-Works over America has been commissioned to make Air Force guidons for the 412 MDG unit at Edwards Air base. The Guidons have a blue field with two swallow tails and an eagle in the center. The numbers above the eagle designate the parent unit and the alphabetical portion below the eagle designates the squadron. (click to view proof FW Airforce17a)  All of our guidons such as, Calvary, Military Police, and Infantry are made to military specifications using two pieces of nylon (no patches) for the designation to be read correct both sides and the insignia is sewn through the nylon to create a single reverse insignia, all per specifications.  Flag-Works has been making Military guidons for over 16 years.  We have made many custom guidons and many standard for almost every branch of service.  A list of some are: Signal Corps guidon, Armor guidon, Medical Corps guidon, Corps of Engineers guidon, Quartermaster corps guidon, Ordnance guidon, Special Forces guidon, Chemical Corps guidon, Anti Air Craft guidon, Field Artillery guidon, Air Defense guidon , JAG guidon, Marine Corps guidon, (Rectangle shape) and Transportation guidon.  If I missed any we can make it.

Flag-Works Has The Open Flags To Promote Your Business!

Well I received another phone call requesting an “open sign” today.  Of course as a flag shop I say “you mean a open flag right? They almost always say “yes a flag, one I can fly of the side of my building”.  I then answer “yes we have them, what design would you like?”  “The regular one” they say. 3x5' Red White and Blue Open flag“Hmm.” I mumble.
Well regular usually means the red white and blue stripe with open written horizontally on the white stripe, but that is just one design of the over 50 designs we have.   Well we were able to provide the customer with everything they needed to fly the open flag which consisted of an ultimate house bracket, a 6′ white spinning pole and a 3×5′ open flag which reads single reverse horizontally like the one pictured above.

When it comes to open flags Flag-Works try’s to have all the various designs available plus feather and blade flag designs. Some open banners have the word “open” read correctly from both sides of the flag were others only read correct from one side and read reverse from the other.  Each flag meets different needs and budgets for our customers.  Visit our online flag shop  for our your flag needs.
