I get this question all the time, and never gave it much thought because all my American flags, country, state, etc. are made in America.  Anyways, I decided to check out the competition on the internet.  Well, I couldn’t believe how many people are buying American flags from China companies.  Some of the companies are Anley, G128 and VSVO to name a few.  Not surprising but I guess the cost is to good to be true.  If you have prime for free shipping you can get a Lite polyester flag for $5.65.  Simply fantastic right.  Hum, read the reviews, you get what you pay for, it’s junk. Our low price printed American flags are made of high quality poly-cotton with good strong grommets and quality stitching. Our price is $15.95 with free shipping.  You don’t have to be a prime member either. Our lowest price printed American flag will out fly, out shine, outlast, out perform any cheap flag from China, or “good” flag from China.  In fact, for a few dollars more you can get our Made in America sewn stripes and embroidered star American flag for $24.95 and free shipping.  This flag will be one you will be proud to fly and tell your neighbors that your flag is made by Americans, in America for Americans and you can prove it.

So how do you prove your flag is made in America or how do I know if my flag was made in China? The short answer is if it doesn’t have a label you won’t be able to tell.  However, what I do know is by law the flag is suppose to be marked with its place of origin.  The only one who can remove that label is the end user.  So all american made flags will have a  similar label to the ones I have pictured here.  The best American flags have the FMAA label.

The American Flag is Red, White and Blue, or Old Glory Red, white and Old Glory Blue. The blue canton symbolizes the union and the present day 50 stars stand for the 50 states. The 13 stripes, 7 red and 6 white represent the original 13 colonies (New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania) which formed the independent nation from England known as the United States of America. The color blue symbolizes loyalty, devotion, friendship, justice and truth; the color red stands for courage, zeal and fervency; and the color white represents purity and rectitude of conduct.  The original government proportions of the national flag and the state flags are followed only by the government and the armed forces while the general public use the proportions of 2:3 3:5 and 5:8

Flag of Heroes:  Made in the USA includes the names of all the Emergency Services personnel, including FDNY, PAPD, and NYPD & COURT Officers.

Patriot Day is an annual observance on September 11 to remember those who were injured or died during the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001. Many Americans refer Patriot Day as 9/11 or September 11.

The flags are a historical marker to the events of 9/11 which is one of the most significant events of our lifetime. They give people a tangible connection to that day. Since flags are used as symbols in our country and a flag can be framed or flown it was the best way to create a lasting tribute that the public could embrace on an individual level.

The American Flag is often displayed around images of the events on September 11, 2001. This is to remind Americans that their country remained strong in the face of massive terrorist attacks.

It is that time of year again. Memorial Day coming up soon and everyone is putting new grave marker flags at their loved ones grave. Flag-Works has a great stock of grave marker flags and grave markers. Grave markers comes in Bronze, Aluminum and Plastic.

Flag-Works provides quality made Grave Marker Flags. These grave marker flags are just the right size for the Veteran’s grave markers that are available in brass or plastic.  They are 12″ x 18″ all edges are sewn, mounted on 30″ wooden shaft with wooden gold finial. Cemetery flags are made using a poly/cotton material, are sewn (hemmed) on all four sides and are made in America.

The Beginning: Flag-Works 20 Years Ago

Flag-Works LogoFlag-Works has come a long way since its inception 20 years ago, but its the people we have serviced that really made Flag-Works grow into a successful business.  When I first purchase a room full of flags, I started selling them from the trunk of my car. The idea was to stop where ever I saw a faded or torn American flag and provide them with a replacement on the spot.  Well  my first stop, of course, was someone I knew.

That stop was at the time T&T Power, he purchase 4×6′ nylon American flag with sewn stripes and embroidered stars.  My firsts sale.  Thank you Bill.  Since then T&T power has successfully grown into a multi million dollar business now known at North Country Tractor Supply doing business selling John Deere tractors in Concord NH, Dover NH, Ossippi NH, Sanford Me.  Congratulation on your great success.

Okay, that sale was a setup.  Not the next one. I went 300 yards down the road, and saw two big  faded flags at Merriam Graves gas supply.  I walked in and sold them a 5×8′ US flag with sewn stripes and embroidered stars and a 5×8′ state of New Hampshire flag.  I then went out and lowered their faded flags and installed the new ones. Merriam Graves is now Airgas with multiple locations through out the area.  They are still a customer and we wish them well on their continued success.

I continued to travel the surrounding area knocking on doors and selling flags.

My first location was on the Second floor office above Bitz and Bytes computer.  A friend and I soon determined that I needed a location that was visible from the street and had windows.  That location,

204 South Main St. Concord NH, was conveniently located next to Vinnies Pizza (great pizza), which had plenty of parking and visibility.  However, I soon out grew that space, and added the location beside me. I was growing, sales in American Flags and decorative flags was brisk.

Fortunatly, I saw that custom flags should be a larger part of my work.  That happened.  We soon grew into on of the premiere custom applique manufacture in the country.  I’m not going to list them here but I will be creating a larger gallery on my website for them. To name a few, Raytheon, New Jersey Net, Post Cereals, Roger Williams University Etc.   Below are  index cards of our past customers flags.   More later.
